The customer’s first impression of any facility is of the utmost importance. Employees who come and go on a daily basis take notice of the upkeep of the property, but have you taken into consideration recently the customers and employees with physical disabilities?

All states must comply with the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design issued by the U.S. Dept. of Justice, There are a multitude of requirements that property owners must be aware of in order to remain in compliance with these standards. Reserved Parking and Van Accessible signage and specifications are particularly specified by the ADA Standards, which include:

  • The color, size, and location of signage
  • One accessibility space must be made available for every 25 regular parking spaces
  • One Van Accessible space must be made available for every 6 accessibility spaces
  • ADA regulations effect all public accommodations and commercial facilities
